Two Marion Projects Awarded Workforce Housing Tax Incentives

This month, the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) announced $29.8 million in Workforce Housing Tax Credit (WHTC) awards across the state, two of which were awarded in Marion. Projects were selected based on readiness, financing, need and local support and participation.

Unemployment Insurance Tax Rate Table Remains the Same for 2022

Iowa employers will not see unemployment tax rate changes through 2022. Tax rates that are used to fund unemployment benefits will be the second lowest allowed by law for the fifth consecutive year.
$490 million of CARES Act coronavirus relief funds were used to support the unemployment trust fund in 2020.

Iowa Finance Authority awards federal funds to Community Housing Initiatives’ Tulip Tree Senior Apartments in Marion

The Iowa Finance Authority on September 8th announced it has allocated $708,412 in annual Housing Tax Credits and an additional $500,000 in federal HOME funds to Community Housing Initiatives, Inc. (CHI) to develop Tulip Tree Apartments in Marion.
The project will offer 40 mixed-income senior apartments at 1330 East Post Road. Construction on the project
