MARION, IOWA — November 18, 2025 — After more than 85 years of serving Eastern Iowa, Linn County Rural Electric Cooperative (Linn County REC) is proud to announce that it will officially become Corridor Energy Cooperative on December 8, 2025. The rebrand reflects the cooperative’s growing membership, commitment to innovation, and dedication to powering communities across Eastern Iowa.
The new name represents the cooperative’s evolution and its growing presence across Eastern Iowa’s corridor. With more than 65% of members now living in urban areas—and over half residing in Johnson County—the name “Corridor Energy Cooperative” reflects the diverse communities the cooperative powers and connects.
“For decades, we’ve grown right alongside our members—adapting and finding new ways to deliver safe, reliable energy,” said Terry Sullivan, CEO/General Manager. “This rebrand positions us for the future. Corridor Energy Cooperative reflects our members, our region, and our commitment to growth and innovation as we continue to build a stronger energy future together.”
The transition to Corridor Energy Cooperative aligns with the organization’s vision to attract businesses and industries to the area, thereby creating opportunities that strengthen the local economy and help reduce costs for all members.
Despite the name change, the cooperative’s mission remains unchanged. Members can expect the same member-owned structure, rates, and dedication to reliable service that have defined the organization for generations.
