Marion Economic Development Corporation (MEDCO) is pleased to announce that MacArthur Company, a nationally recognized and employee-owned distributor of commercial building products, has established a new location in the Marion Enterprise Center. The company has purchased the former Twenty40 Building Concepts facility located at 6455 Partners Avenue and has begun relocating operations that are currently based near the Eastern Iowa Airport.

Founded in 1913 and headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, MacArthur Company supplies contractors nationwide with products including mechanical and building insulation, HVAC components, commercial roofing, siding, decking, windows, and millwork. The company operates more than 40 locations across the United States and is known for its deep product expertise, customer service focus, and commitment to employee ownership.

The Marion facility will include 40,000 square feet of warehouse and office space and will transition approximately 20 existing employees from the company’s previously leased location. The move allows MacArthur Company to operate from an owned facility, expand regional distribution capacity, and strengthen service to contractors across Eastern Iowa.

“Marion is a growing market in a location that aligns well with our regional operations,” said Mike Peterson, Regional Manager, MacArthur Company. “Our lease at our former site was coming to an end, and this opportunity provided the right long-term fit. With a new branch recently opened in the Quad Cities, establishing this location in Marion gives us the right geographic coverage to serve our customers effectively. We are looking forward to being part of a community that supports business and workforce growth.”

MacArthur Company has already begun the moving process and anticipates being fully operational by January 2026.

Mark Seckman, President of MEDCO, highlighted the regional significance of this project:

“This is a win for Marion and the region. The project came to life because of the commitment of local business leader Chad Pelley, who brought this opportunity forward and relocated his business to make room for MacArthur Company. We are pleased to welcome a respected, employee-owned company that contributes to the strength of our construction and industrial supply sector.”

Marion Mayor Nick AbouAssaly emphasized how the project reflects Marion’s strategic business climate: “Marion has worked intentionally to create a welcoming environment for companies to invest, expand, and serve the region. MacArthur Company’s decision to locate here demonstrates the confidence that strong, well-established businesses have in Marion’s momentum and the opportunities available here.”

The addition of MacArthur Company further strengthens Marion’s position as a regional hub for contractor supply, industrial distribution, and construction support services. For more information about MacArthur Company, visit macarthurco.com.
