Marion Economic Development Corporation (MEDCO) is proud to announce the appointment of seven individuals to its Board of Directors. This group brings a wide range of experience in business, public service, finance, and community leadership, reinforcing MEDCO’s mission to champion economic growth and opportunity in Marion.
Galen Lantermans, a longtime Marion resident, serves as Project Manager at ESCO Electric. With 20 years at the company, his career spans major commercial and industrial projects throughout the region. A U.S. Army National Guard veteran with two overseas deployments, Galen brings leadership, technical expertise, and a strong connection to the skilled trades.
Cari McCoy is Vice President of Strategy & Execution at Van Meter. Formerly CEO and President of Clickstop, McCoy is known for her expertise in branding, marketing, and team alignment. She leads the Leadership Development Committee for ImpactCR. Her deep community involvement and strategic mindset will be an asset to MEDCO’s long-term planning.
Brandy Z. Meisheid, newly elected Linn County Supervisor for District 3, joins MEDCO as a representative of the Board of Supervisors. Her focus on rural and small-town constituents, along with her background in planning and development, brings important perspectives to MEDCO’s work across greater Linn County.
Andrew Messerschmidt, CFA, is a Trust Investment Officer at Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust. With over 15 years of experience in investment strategy and portfolio management, Messerschmidt brings financial acumen and a keen understanding of capital markets. A Marion resident, he is committed to local economic resilience and growth.
Jennifer Skogman, President of Skogman Homes, leads one of the region’s most prominent homebuilders. A Linn-Mar alum and lifelong resident, Skogman’s knowledge of the housing market and real estate development will support MEDCO’s continued efforts to grow and diversify residential options in Marion.
Nathan Van Genderen, Executive Vice President and CFO at Mercy Medical Center, oversees a wide range of strategic and operational functions. With over 25 years in financial leadership roles across the country, Van Genderen brings deep insight into healthcare, business development, and fiscal management—critical to Marion’s growing medical sector.
Randy Walter was recently named CEO of Timberline Manufacturing in Marion. A U.S. Army veteran and former CFO, Walter brings decades of senior leadership experience in manufacturing and distribution. His vision and operational expertise will help guide MEDCO’s focus on business recruitment and retention in key industries.
