Marion is on a Roll!

It’s not hard to sell Marion, it’s a vibrant community that offers its residents and businesses a variety of assets and opportunities. A well-balanced quality of life, low cost of living, growing healthcare options, superior schools, and a wide array of public amenities make Marion an attractive place to live and work.

As you drive around, you see economic growth touching every part of our community. Progress is occurring through both public and private investments.

Public Investments:

Both school districts are investing in new performing arts facilities, and Marion Independent recently opened their new Parkview Elementary School.

The City of Marion recently opened their new Public Works Facility and celebrated the completion of Prairie Hill Park along with the work being done on the Marion Central Plaza.

Private Investment:

New multi-family housing continues to take shape with the transformation of the Belltower Lofts in Uptown and the start of a new apartment/commercial building at the corner of 29th Ave and Highway 13.

On opposite ends of the east/west gateways into Marion, Ohnward Bank is making significant progress on their facility expansion, and the new Holiday Inn Express Hotel is nearing completion.

Uptown Marion continues its momentum with construction moving forward at a brisk pace for the expanded space for Staged Dwellings and the new The Eat Shop in the Broad and Main Building.

Our economic success is a collective effort and we know we must not become complacent with our past accomplishments. Now is the time to increase the trajectory of our efforts and continue to focus on a proactive, intentional approach to economic growth.

We are a community rich in assets and opportunities, but we can always Reach Higher!
