Marion, IA – Marion Economic Development Corporation (MEDCO) will celebrate the opening of their new office with a ribbon cutting at 4pm on Thursday, November 10th. The new office location is 1107 7th Avenue, Ste. 201 in Marion. MEDCO was formerly located inside Marion City Hall and relocated to Broad & Main on 7th in early October. Broad & Main will also celebrate a grand opening that same evening. The public is invited to attend. Marion Chamber ambassadors will participate in both celebrations.

The new location equips MEDCO to continue driving competitive advantage for Marion while providing new space for current and prospective businesses to gather at the heart of the community. “We’re excited about what this space now offers our investors, entrepreneurs, and partners. A building is just a building, which is why it’s most exciting to see the new connections and collaborating that will happen here to grow Marion. We really feel it will position us to effectively lead the business and development community for the next generation,” said Nick Glew, MEDCO President.

The space features the Farmers State Bank Training Room, large enough for 30 people and available to be reserved and used for trainings and meetings. When not in use for training, the space will be home to Cowork 1107 which offers a shared, community-driven workspace for location-independent workers and entrepreneurs.  The spaces also features the Shive Hattery Hospitality Area, Martin Gardner Executive Conference Room, MidAmerican Energy Conference Room, Rathje Conference Room, Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust roof-top patio, and ADA accessibility.

“We are very thankful for the generous support of the community and MEDCO investors who have financially supported our relocation efforts. We look forward to celebrating!” said Glew.
