Rexco Equipment, a local heavy and compact construction equipment dealer, has acquired JP Scherrman, Inc. (JPS) an equipment dealer in Farley, Iowa – effective close of business on September 30, 2022.
Rexco is excited to retain the company’s employees who possess a reputation of excellent customer service and product knowledge. A staff that will continue to partner with the current customer base on helping to maintain their equipment and grow their businesses.
Also, with this acquisition Rexco will be strengthening our commitment to being 100% employee owned. Our employee owners are committed to exceed customer expectations. As we grow our Rexco team, with Farley being our seventh location in Iowa, we will continue to provide solutions for our customers as their equipment partner. Our current Rexco locations include Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Iowa City, Davenport, Burlington, and Sigourney.

JPS was founded in 1919 with their original name being J. P. Scherrman’s Garage and Implements, Inc. They started as a repair service, later selling small gas engines and hardware items. In the 1940’s and 1950’s, they diversified becoming an International Harvester dealer along with an auto dealership, a gas station, wrecker service, tire sales, plumbing, heating and electric work along with selling appliances and TVs.
At its Farley location Rexco will continue to sell Bobcat, Kuhn, Kuhn Knight, Exmark and Supreme with the addition of Link-Belt Cranes, Bandit, Link-Belt Excavators, and Behnke Trailers.
