Marion Economic Development Corporation partners with the State of Iowa, utility partners, and area economic development groups to provide the most comprehensive listing of available sites and buildings at www.medcoiowa.org/main/sites-buildings. The technology powering these listings is called LOIS (LocationOne Information System).
In addition to property listings, new regional labor and employment data was recently updated in partnership with UNI’s Institute for Decision Making.

Once you select a property listing, scroll to the “Area Profile” section on the right side of the page. Select the area you wish to learn more about. (State, Region (Cedar Rapids MSA), County,) and look for the paperclip (aka "Files") to access documents that include:
- Labor force data
- Detailed data on K-12 education
- Information on higher education, and as available, the programs offered each
- Other data including health care, hospitals, and crime stats.
An additional upgrade to LOIS now includes full integration with partner brokers and their unique listing systems. Listings on LOIS will now automatically update each week based on brokerages’ publicly available data. This automated process allows for the most current data to always be available through LOIS, together with industry specific data that is only published through www.medcoiowa.org and other economic development organizations. The new automated enhancement called Resimplifi, typically increases the number of listings viewable on LOIS by 140 to 170%.
