Marion, IA –The Marion Enterprise Center (MEC) in Marion, Iowa has received recertification as a General Industrial Park by Quest Site Solutions. The MEC was originally one of the first Iowa certified sites in 2015. The MEC continues to be the most active certified site in the State of Iowa.
In 2012, Quest developed a program for Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) to certify industrial sites and parks as ready for industrial development. Quest requires a thorough list of criteria be met to achieve certification. The MEC is a 184-acre industrial park located on Highway 151 on the east side of Marion, near the Marion Police Station and Marion Airport.
“The rigorous recertification process allows us to continue to be amongst the best available and most risk-free sites to companies considering Iowa,” said Nick Glew, MEDCO President.
The MEC is home to Legacy Manufacturing, ELPLAST America Inc., Spee-Dee Delivery Service, Electric Specialty Manufacturing Co., and S&S Storage. Two additional speculative warehouse projects will be under construction later this fall. The certified park features fully developed and preliminary platted lots, allowing companies to easily select lot size and location. All infrastructure including electric, water, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, fiber and natural gas are installed and ready for quick connection. Due diligence requirements and studies including environmental, geo-tech boring, wetland and archaeological reports have been completed and are available upon request.
