Superintendent

Description:

The Project Superintendent is responsible for the overall planning, scheduling, management, safety, and execution of work for assigned construction projects. Will maximize project profitability and schedule requirements while meeting quality and safety standards and owner expectations. Expectations include proactively responding to customer needs and cultivating Raving Fan customer relationships and assisting with training and development of employees under his/her supervision.

Specific duties include: managing subcontractor performance, development and tracking of CPM schedules, management of overall general construction budgets and safety programs. Comprehend all design documents, develop material procurement lists and incorporate into master schedule, review shop drawings, establish and monitor QC program, and value-engineer throughout projects.  Mentor subordinates, effectively communicate with all project team members, make sound decisions, and seek creative solutions to problems using all available resources.  Create Raving Fans and sell additional work. 

Starting salary:
Pay range varies per region. National minimum salary starts at $70,000

High school courses important to the position:
Math: algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus - Science: physics - English: composition, technical communication

Training, certifications, or degree needed to qualify for the position:
The Superintendent needs to have post high school education or equivalent in the construction field, possess a valid driver?s license, and pass pre-employment drug and alcohol tests and subsequent random testing.
