Maintenance Technician

Description:

The Maintenance Technician performs routine and preventive maintenance, general repairs and adjustments to building systems, equipment and fixtures under the guidance of the lead/chief engineer. This position is part of a team that includes office support and building engineering staff.

Job Details: • Replace lamps and/or ballasts as required in a timely manner • Perform door hardware maintenance and repair • Painting as directed • Maintain and repair irrigation systems • Police property/building grounds, public areas, parking lots, roof; remove debris on a daily basis; remove ice and snow from sidewalks as needed • Maintain mechanical rooms, utility rooms and vacant areas in a neat and clean condition • Complete work orders as assigned on a daily/weekly basis • Participate in on-call, after-hours and weekend rotation • Complete all tasks and projects assigned • Participate in on-call after hours 

Starting salary:
Pay range varies per region. National minimum salary starts at $35K

Training, certifications, or degree needed to qualify for the position:
A two-year technical degree is required. May be required to have reliable transportation, valid driver?s license, current vehicle insurance to perform work at different locations. Have or applying for a Special Boilers License is preferred.

Basic computer skills required ? Positive, helpful attitude at all times when interacting with building occupants ? Good verbal communication skills ? Ability to work well and efficiently on a team ? Working knowledge of building systems preferred
