CAD Drafter/Designer OpenRoads

Description:

This person will work under the direction of department supervisor to create drafting deliverables for reports and support management of data for use by staff in the field and office. General responsibilities will include the creation of soil boring plan and profile sheets, 3D soils meshes, various site maps, and soils construction diagrams. This individual primarily works on low to moderate complexity projects and understands when to seek guidance from supervisor.

 

Responsibilities:

Routinely prepares figures for drafting requests including the following:

  • Soil boring plan and profile sheets
  • 3D soils meshes
  • General site sketches and diagrams
  • Assorted soils construction diagrams, and other graphics as required
  • Drawing support for larger projects
  • Other report drawings as required

Math

Training, certifications, or degree needed to qualify for the position:
3-5 years of experience in a CAD focused role Technical College degree, Associates Degree, or equivalent combination of years of experience/education Proficient with Bentley Microstation Software, OpenRoads Designer, and Projectwise Explorer Background with AutoCAD Civil 3D commands and workflows is helpful Familiar with working in multi-tab drawings, managing layer display attributes and visibility within multiple viewports General knowledge of ArcGIS, Excel, Word and Adobe Acrobat is helpful

Specific skills that your business recognizes as fundamental to employment (life skills):
Familiar with the Bentley Microstation and OpenRoads Designer environment and basic functionality, including: Familiar with concept of coordinate systems, identifying them and working within them Import, display, and annotation of point data Display and referencing of design drawings Familiarity with tools used for coordinate conversion Ability to modify display styles to control the appearance and display of soils and civil objects including points, soils data, and roadway design linework Ability to assemble multiple drawing files supplied to Braun Intertec and organize them in a way that allows for efficient drawing updates in the event of future changes to the drawing data Problem solving Critical thinking Must have attention to details and ability to prioritize work load Must have a valid drivers license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and MVR check.
