Description:
Responsibilities include:
- Meet with internal stakeholders or external clients to discuss objectives for Internet and intranet sites and other online projects
- Provide expert creative guidance on the overall look, feel and functionality of web design projects
- Create concepts in design programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Know languages such as HTML and JavaScript
- Create compelling artwork (including images, icons, banners) and layouts that are appealing and user-friendly
- Conduct quality assurance work to identify possible problems before launch
- Commit to staying current with software developments and web trends
High school courses important to the position:
Graphic design, web design, HTML or CSS classes.
Training, certifications, or degree needed to qualify for the position:
While a bachelor's degree isn't required, a degree in design, information technology or computer science is a plus.
Specific skills that your business recognizes as fundamental to employment (life skills):
HTML and CSS required. Knowledge of responsive design. Wordpress experience a must. Collaborative teamwork is critical to the success of a solid website, so the ability to meet deadlines and work with the marketing or operations team is very important.
