Description:

The job of a content writer is to create print and digital content for companies that provides information or showcases the products or services they offer, including social media content, blog posts, etc.. Content writers work closely with marketing and sales teams to develop content that accurately reflects company ideals and goals. 

Some duties include:

  • Produce well-researched content for publication online and in print
  • Utilize industry best practices and familiarity with the organization's mission to inspire ideas and content
  • Follow an editorial calendar, collaborating with other members of the marketing team to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Develop related content for multiple platforms, such as websites, email marketing, product descriptions, videos, and blogs
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of key performance indicators (KPIs) to offer suggestions for improvement
  • Use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the online visibility of a website in search results

Per project basis

Training, certifications, or degree needed to qualify for the position:
Not required, but most content writers have an undergraduate degree in English or marketing.

To be successful in this role, content writers must know how to use a variety of writing and publishing programs, such as Microsoft Office, G Suite, and WordPress. A strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure is essential.
