Production Machine Operator

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for setting up and operating various production machines to ensure the line is on schedule, within quality standards, and according to company and/or customer specifications.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following)

  • Display and promote company values (ASPIRE: Attitude, Safety, Passion, Integrity, Relationship, and Evolve)
  • Safely operate production equipment to specifications
  • Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled products to standards
  • Regulate machine flow, speed, and/or temperature
  • Stop and/or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required
  • Train new employees and temporary workers
  • Understand and can accurately complete all of the necessary paperwork
  • Monitor/Develop/Improve current Standard Operating Procedures
  • Recommend process improvements for increased efficiencies
  • Firm understanding and compliance with company’s Good Manufacturing Practices and Safe Practices
  • Regular attendance
  • Other duties as assigned

HOURS

Rotating 12 Hour Shift: 5:00 am to 5:00 pm  or 5:00pm to 5:00 am 

Week One: 3 days on 4 days off

Week Two: 4 days on and 3 days off

High school courses important to the position:
High school diploma/GED required

Training, certifications, or degree needed to qualify for the position:
Passing levels on the following National Career Readiness Assessments: Applied Mathematics – Required Locating Information – Required Reading for Information – Required Workplace Observation – Preferred A minimum of 1+ years’ of experience in a relatable field preferred Experience with ERP software preferred Experience with a wide variety of measuring instruments and complicated product development preferred Knowledge of GMP’s, OSHA rules and regulations preferred Knowledge of material inspection methods and techniques preferred
