Fabrication Specialist
Description:
Fabrication and assembly of all equipment from blueprints ensuring fit and finish while meeting agreed upon production timetables. The successful teammate will also help drive a continuous improvement, positive and goal-oriented culture.
- Able to layout, weld, grind, polish and form materials with the available equipment
- Identify and rectify issues as they arise. Work with the engineering group to identify potential design issues in the fabrication review phase of projects.
- Make recommendations based on experience and best practices to ensure the best product design possible
- Attend project start up and close out meetings to review overall hour performance and contribute to best practices for future projects
- Review project status daily and modifies build schedule based on material availability, fabrication progress and unforeseen issues. Notify team coach when a project is projecting past its scheduled due date or over estimated production hours
- Set the example for your team, work hard and consistently stay on task while minimizing distractions, have a plan for the day, week and overall project
- Maintain a positive team environment, hold teammates accountable to perform at optimal levels with minimized distractions.
- Willingness to work overtime hours
- Other duties as assigned
Training, certifications, or degree needed to qualify for the position:
A minimum of 2 years experience and knowledgeable in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding practices (welding certification or qualification a plus), with the aptitude to determine if weld quality meets established standards of the organization. Able to layout, weld (MIG & TIG), grind, polish and form materials with the available equipment.
