Financial Analyst

Description:

Prepares and performs analytical work related to annual budgets, monthly forecasts, financial statements and the firm’s critical indicators.  Works in matrix organizational structure that also supports divisional Executive Vice Presidents with financial analytics and other operational metrics.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

CLIENT SERVICE:  

  • Use statistical analysis, simulation and optimization to develop practical solutions.
  • Monitor and analyze financial trends and communicate results to leadership.
  • Meet with executive management and leadership to identify, discuss and prioritize financial performance vs. annual plan
  • Communicate results with key leaders and recommend improvements to meet key critical indicators.
  • Develop process to accurately and timely communicate results to departments and stakeholders.
  • Advise decision makers on the appropriate course of action, and present reports to document recommendations.
  • Serve as a team leader/member on cross-departmental initiatives and projects.

QUALITY CONTROL & WORKFLOW:

  • Manage the Analysis, forecasting and reporting of corporate and departmental operating performance in order to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead the preparation of annual financial plan.
  • Compare monthly results to plan; prepare and forecast relevant financial scorecard information.
  • Define and document measurement sources.
  • Build, maintain and reinforce cost effective controls.
  • Complete and consistently follow the workflows for defined reports and measurement tools.
  • Ensure the operational data integrity from the divisions and departments are managed and accurate.
  • Identify, understand and communicate any/all variances to appropriate audiences.

ORGANIZATION & PLANNING:

  • Develop continuous improvement process to make decisions and recommendations regarding risks, opportunities and efficiencies.
  • Develops and updates regularly scorecard critical indicators for each position in the organization.
  • Organize time in advance so projects are completed on time and with appropriate content and organization.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION & OTHER SKILLS

  • College degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting and/or financial analytics required.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Successful candidates will have the ability to prioritize and manage workload in a fast paced environment, work independently, consistently meet deadlines, as well as analyze and communicate financial information to disparate audiences.
  • Must also have experience in Microsoft Office. Specifically Intermediate WORD skills and Advanced EXCEL skills.

Starting salary:
55,000-70,000

It would be beneficial to take advantage of any finance-related classes.

Training, certifications, or degree needed to qualify for the position:
This role would require a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
