Driver Benefit Consultant
Description:
The primary function of the Driver Benefit Consultant is to handle inbound and/or outbound calls from/to individual owner operators and other eligible purchasers, regarding the sale and service of voluntary benefits.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive incoming calls from individuals interested in purchasing voluntary benefits (inbound)
- Place outbound calls to individuals from supplied call lists (outbound)
- Consult callers on voluntary benefit products available to them and cross sell other products available as members of Truckers Service Association, where applicable
- Answer phones in a professional and timely manner to ensure customers are serviced appropriately
- Maintain a positive attitude, even when dealing with difficult customers
- Maintain quality customer service with clients daily by providing consistent, timely and accurate service.
- Process applications over the phone, record calls, and enter applicant information into participation management systems
- Maintain and follow written procedures; complete all procedures as outlined on the “TrueChoices Processes- Index
- Assist in the execution of marketing material to available applicants
- Complete any special projects assigned by the expected deadline
- Increase industry and job knowledge as measured by attendance at continuing education, attaining or updating designations, and participation in other agency training offerings
- Other duties as assigned, appropriate to the position
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- College degree or equivalent combination of training and work experience preferred
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Driver Benefit Consultant, or a related role, is required
- Life & Health insurance licensing required within 90 days of employment
- Must also have experience in Microsoft Office; specifically, intermediate WORD skills, EXCEL skills and Basic PowerPoint skills

Starting salary:
15-25/hour

Nothing specific but role would require a HS diploma
Training, certifications, or degree needed to qualify for the position:
A degree is not required, as experience will be accepted. Previous experience that is valuable for a Driver Benefit Consultant role would be any previous experience in a call center environment, inside/outside sales, or within the transportation or insurance industry. A degree would be valuable in lieu of experience; Risk Management or Business tend to be commonly sought out degrees in the industry, but any degree is typically accepted within our company.
