Construction Estimator
Description:
The Construction Estimator is responsible for the daily management, coordination and completion of specific tasks associated with the preconstruction phase of building projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities can include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the bid process including ordering of bid documents, prepare invitations for bid, collect subcontractor responses, work on bid templates, complete bid bond application and review subcontractor proposals for completeness
- Analyze drawings and specifications as well as understand contractual terms and conditions to compile accurate cost data for construction estimates
- Attend pre-bid meetings, interact with customers, and visit jobsites to obtain data for specialized scopes of work
- Identify scope of work, perform takeoffs, and generate detailed estimates in an accurate but timely matter for unit priced, lump sum, and negotiated project opportunities
- Work with vendors and subcontractors to secure quotations; analyze and coordinate to ensure contract compliance and best fit/value
- Review bids with senior management, prepare proposal with detailed scope & clarifications
- Breakdown estimate & develop detailed budgets for acquired projects
- Prepare milestone project schedule using Microsoft Project
- Prepare project schedule of values
- Ability to compare budgets vs. actual costs, analyze data and utilize for future estimates
- Responsible for providing the communication, coordination, and follow-up necessary to meet the project goals and objective
- Provides ongoing project information and project reviews to team/client
- Ensures scope of work, schedule, and budget are clearly defined and understood by all project participants, including clients
- Perform routine clerical duties such as setting up new files, maintaining department files, reproducing documents, drawings, etc., for inclusion in bid proposals
- Establishes and maintains positive relationships with clients and stakeholders associated with each construction project

Training, certifications, or degree needed to qualify for the position:
Minimum of (3) years’ experience in Construction Project Management & Estimating
Bachelor’s Degree in construction management or related field (preferred)
