Future Focused Forums: Transforming Challenge to Resiliency
As you shift your focus from 2020 challenges to 2021 opportunity, we take time to reflect, listen, and learn from each other through stories of resiliency. The Future Focused Forums series will encourage us to embrace change, re- position our focus, and lead through adversity. A portion of the proceeds collected from forum admission will go to Trees Forever to support Marion’s continued recovery from the 2020 Derecho.
Future Focused on Industry – July 27th 8:30-9:30 am
Join us for a conversation with Debi Durham, Director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority and the Iowa Finance Authority. As the most influential economic development leader in our state, Debi will provide an overview of Iowa’s Manufacturing 4.0 playbook.
Manufacturing today faces a technology revolution that emphasizes automation and smart technology. This fourth Industrial Revolution, known as Industry 4.0, will usher in advances and disruptions to manufacturing on a similar scale as those brought over time by water and steam power, mass assembly, and computer and robotics. Industry 4.0 includes the Internet of Things, additive manufacturing, advanced robotics, augmented reality, and cybersecurity. These are factors that all will transform how work is performed. Iowa’s ability to compete globally hinges on its successful transition to new operating models, especially for small-to-medium sized manufacturers.
Join us for an update on new plans and tools designed to support our state’s continued recovery and growth.
