MEDCO was formally incorporated in 1984 by a group of visionaries who believed in a positive future for Marion. They recognized that in order for Marion to thrive, it would be best if local folks stepped forward to provide support and direction for area development.

MEDCO mission statement

MEDCO's mission to the community is to coordinate economic development activities by working to retain and expand the existing business base while encouraging new industrial and large commercial endeavors that benefit Marion.

 

MEDCO's focus has not changed in the 23 years of its existence. The Board of Directors and MEDCO investors are committed to advancing the cause of Economic Development in Marion and surrounding communities. They believe in a positive future for Marion and are willing to work with you to help make your dreams become reality.

The MEDCO Board of Directors is comprised of 20 volunteers who serve three year terms. MEDCO board members represent all sectors of the Marion Community. Additionally, the board is served by 8 Ex-Officio members representing the City of Marion, the Marion Chamber of Commerce, Kirkwood Community of College and Priority One.
