Marion, IA – Syncbak, the market leader in live local streaming, announced today that it plans to move its corporate offices to 1 Research Center in Marion, IA. Syncbak is the technology that powers more than 12 million hours of live-streaming content on platforms including CBS All Access, Hulu, fuboTV, Sony, Amazon, the NFL, and more.
In 2018 the company announced plans to double its workforce from its current 40 employees. Consistently recognized as the most valuable venture capital backed startup in the state of Iowa, Syncbak’s location announcement comes after a tremendous year of growth for the company. Its technology now reaches over 99% of the U.S. with plans for continued global expansion. SBTV, the company’s direct-to-consumer product, is experiencing explosive growth as consumers look for free, ad support, streaming content – live and on-demand.
“Syncbak's move to Marion is something of a homecoming,” said Jack Perry, founder & CEO of Syncbak. “Our first office, 300 square feet Uptown in the Potter Building, was quickly too small. Over the past eight years we've double, tripled and quadrupled in size and look forward to many years of continued expansion in the historic, at least by broadcast television standards, Frank N. Magid Associates building,” added Perry.
The company is consistently named by Business Insider and Pitchbook as the most valuable startup in Iowa and one of the most valuable nationwide alongside companies like Uber and WeWork.
“Retaining a company with the national influence and respect that Syncbak has earned is a huge win for our region,” says MEDCO President Nick Glew. “We are thrilled to welcome Syncbak to Marion as we continue to build a portfolio of high tech, high growth companies in our community.”
Syncbak was founded by Jack Perry in 2009 and currently has offices in Cedar Rapids & New York.
