School Board Forum to Feature Seven Candidates Running for Four At Large Seats

The Marion Economic Development Corporation and Marion Chamber of Commerce will jointly host a school board candidates’ forum featuring individuals seeking election to the Linn-Mar Community School District Board of Directors.

The forum will take place Thursday, October 17 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Lowe Park Arts & Environment Center, 4500 North 10th Street in Marion. The public is invited to attend.

The forum will follow a question and answer format of predetermined questions while also giving voters an opportunity to submit questions to a moderator. Invited candidates include Barry Buchholz, Bob Gabel, Brittania Morey, Sondra Nelson (Incumbent), Clark Weaver (Incumbent), Jeffrey Wisdo, and LaSheila Yates.

Voters will elect four of the seven candidates to fill the At-Large seats. The elected positions are four-year terms. Incumbent Tim Isenberg is running unopposed to fill a two-year at large seat.

The combined City and School elections will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Voters may request absentee ballots until 10 days before the general election by visiting http://www.linncounty.org/157/Election-Services.
