MARION, IA – Developers of Squaw Creek Crossing, Marion's first large-scale mixed use development, are proud to announce plans for a Country Inn & Suites to be built at 5993 Carlson Way, Marion, Iowa, with construction set to begin this Spring.
The new 100-room, 3-story hotel will anchor a 20 acre mixed use development that will serve as a gateway to Marion for visitors from the north, south and east. In addition to a previously announced state-of-the-art Dupaco Community Credit Union, Squaw Creek Crossing will be home to residential, commercial, service, and hospitality properties.
“There is already high demand for an upper-midscale hotel in Marion’s eastern gateway, and demand will continue to grow upon completion of the Prospect Meadows baseball complex.” said Brian Ridge, part of the local development group behind the project. “The Country Inn & Suites is a great fit for Marion’s growing community, and we’re looking forward to working with the team at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group to provide quality, reasonably priced hospitality for the city of Marion and its visitors.”
“As our community grows, access to quality hospitality is paramount,” said Nick Glew, President of Marion Economic Development Corporation. “Squaw Creek Crossing is a key gateway to Marion that will serve the growing needs of both our tourism and industry sectors. We couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of this development.”
Construction will begin this spring, with anticipated completion in spring of 2019. The hotel will be operated by Dora Hospitality.
